i have temporarily abandoned Anna Karenina until i can get my own copy. my plan to read it in three weeks and thus avoid overdue library fines was perhaps slightly ambitious.

*grumble grumble*, STILL trying to source this Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian you speak of in Phnom Penh. I have, however, located "Emergency Sex and Other Desperate Measures: A True Story from Hell on Earth", a true story by a bunch of UN workers, so I am, for the moment, sated.
