So, as usual, I feel compelled to write an entry during finals. Of course, because that's when I have the most to say... er, when I have the least amount of time and I somehow end up spending it on lj. heh

So, wisdom teeth are out... one of my teeth, as I might've mentioned, was completely impacted/horizontal with the roots growing into my jaw. That one hurt like a bitch even with all the numbing stuff they used ( vials in total! wow...) but I ate some peas, oatmeal and yogurt and there isn't a whole lot of swelling.. the bleeding only lasted about 2 hours at the worst of it, though there was still a bit on my pillow this morning/when I brush my teeth/when I eat/etc. it's not that bad. It'll still take a couple of days. The only thing that bothers me is they gave me lame pain meds (ibuprofen? pfft.)
Yay, mine are out too! It was really traumatic for me. They numbed me a little and then put in the anesthetics - it hurt so bad. As soon as the doctor was done doing that and went away to let the numbing stuff work, I noticed I had tears on my face. Ugh. And then I got some NOx - which lasted the entire surgery, I might add. Apparently I have weird teeth, both of the upper ones had three roots - something he apparently hasn't seen before. After the whole thing was over I was standing there with Dale and just started crying. I wasn't in pain, or anything... just really shocked about the whole thing I guess.
The bleeding for me lasted about 4-5 hours, I'd say. I slept most of the day. I'm still a little swollen and am having an interesting time eating my oatmeal at the moment. Dale is being a big jerk and eating all sorts of food that I can't have... :-p
That's lame they only gave you ibuprofen. I got percocet. At least the ibuprofen takes the edge off though, right?
It's VERY stressful! Except for the last tooth and some prodding that was remedied with more numbing agent, it wasn't very painful... but like... your body still knows and starts to release adrenaline and do what it would do before going into shock :P So my legs were shaking during the whole thing and I just felt.. anxious.
The ibuprofen helps reduce the inflammation and I guess it does help with the pain, but it's still... painful! Shannon used to have a prescription for percocets but no longer... wish I had something better right now. At least, for sleeping.
