It never ceases to amaze me how many people become fanatical about crap, and how becoming fanatical makes everything tripe ( Read more... )

I have low expectations after seeing the trailer. The bit at the end where they wind it up to look like an action/thriller turned me off.

Maybe there is no point me watching it, because I would be drawing from the original. There is good reason for that. While the events of the film are open to intepration, the actual events are fairly simple. I don't think you can recreate that and get the same reaction a second time around. To put it to those who haven't seen either films, it would be like haven't a '6th Sense' sequel.

I haven't seen it and yeah, I don't know if I should. It's never a good idea to watch a film to prove somebody wrong... it never works (fuck you people who prefered English Ring over Japanese hahaha). Then again films that I go in with low expectations I often end up enjoying the most.

Very true!

I really wasn't expecting much after seeing the trailer either.

Perhaps that is why I enjoyed it as I did.

I am also a sucker for films and really get swept up and caught in them. I remember Hamish pointing out how he would notice all these things as leads or indications of X or Y conclusion, while I just enjoyed the experience.

Depends what kind of a film watcher you are.
