Their wedding announcement from 1999 mentions that Jody's father was a professor at Yale Med School in New Haven, so the audience probably included a lot of friends and family.......
Glad it had a full house! The critics are very much divided on this one but it seems to be liked by the "ordinary"(!) people. I don't know how well it would play in the UK but I hope we get a chance to see it eventually and I can see it going down well at the place I work as we have a mainly middle-aged, middle-class clientele that would appreciate the wine and the scenery. I'm still looking forward to Nobel Son more than this one though. (Have to admit that I like the 'tache!;)
Have to say that while I truly enjoyed Nobel Son, I actually liked this one better ... and was really surprised at that realization! Hope it crosses the pond soon ...
Hmmn...do you think some critics will give Nobel Son worse reviews than they gave Bottle Shock? Or will they like it better because it has more of the traditional movie elements (e.g., car/cop/girl/violent action and a more twisty plot)?
Why do you like Bottle Shock better?
Personally, I don't really like the way AR looks in wigs, with dyed hair or with a beard, stubble or 'stache (unless it's with a goatee and it's pre-1990). I like his hair basically neat, not too long, such as during his recent US visit. So I'm looking forward to watching him as Eli Michaelson with his normal handsome appearance. And big fake teeth added for the role, but that shouldn't be too distracting. :-)
Nobel Son is a very, very different film, although I do think it will be somehow recognizable to people who've seen Bottle Shock and/or are familiar with Savin and Miller -- not least because of the shared cast! Hard to know what the critics will say about that one. It was very enjoyable, as I said, but very fast-paced and sometimes a little (or a lot) over-the-top. Bottle Shock was definitely more my tempo.

Separate piece of trivia: Rhea Perlman is Randy's cousin, which might have something to do with Danny De Vito being in Nobel Son....
And while we part company over his Snowcake sunglasses, I too am no fan of the pornstache. :-)
