Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religionJust because the phrase isn't in there doesn't mean the concept isn't. No religion is a religious choice, in all technicality. By choosing to have no distinct religion, or by choosing NOT to believe any religion at all is, in itself, an "establishment of religion." An athiest, let's say, is choosing to establish that they do not believe in God. Therefore, what is fair about the church being used as a means to rule a country where Congress is not to make any laws respecting religious choices ( ... )

Right. Umm... I'm not quite sure what you're saying in the first paragraph, but I probably agree with you to some extent.

Basically the whole argument comes down to the interpretation of "respecting and establishment of religion". Some think it means merely not enforcing a particular religion and others think it means nothing state-sanctioned can mention any sort of deity. I think it's somewhere in the middle, but I'm just not quite sure exactly how to define it.

And I do appreciate your input. You are obviously the only person open-minded enough to even consider my "radical" views. Thank you.
