Someone tried to charge $890 on my debit card at a Ladies Foot Locker (too bad I don't even have that much money in my account), got denied, and then tried to charge $500 and that was when my bank froze my account. So... they didn't get away with it, but I still have my card. This person some how got my card number and was able to use it at a store

wow... well, I'm glad someone's attempt at credit fraud didn't completely fuck you over. It might have been a cashier that ran you up at some point that stole the number (like, when you were using your card at a store, or something). I noticed when I worked at Sally's that I'd have plenty of chances to steal people's credit info.

Yeah I guess that could have happened, but I haven't used my debit card in over a week so I don't know. BUT I also have a credit card with my name on it that's my mom's account (for emergencies you know) and they took that number too and was actually allowed to charge the $500 to that. I informed my mom of the fact that it was in wallet and she called the bank and they saw the charge and canceled it. So it was someone that went into my wallet. Still don't know when or how. We called the store today and found out who was working and the name that was signed to the receipt. I am going to the police tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

I am not sure excited in the correct term, but I was ready to climb through the phone today to get to the person at the store. haha

Damn. I would be relieved if i were you though, you got lucky that your card theifs weren't smart.
And I was thinking along the same lines as Nikki, did you use your card at that lady foot locker ever?
