Personal Stuff you want to share ABOUT YOU: My name is Gret. I'm 23 and living in Mechanicsburg, PA for another couple of months, then off to Washington D.C. for the summer. I'm a writer (unpaid, currently, but I'm hoping writing will replace my real job soon) and film addict.

the City of Angels soundtrack is great, and you have good movie taste :)
i can't wait to see Sin City. isn't it too violent?

Sin City is very violent. While I don't mind some violence in film I tend not to like a lot of blood and gore just for the sake of blood and gore, but this movie is stylistically different. You see the violent actions, but you don't see as much of the physical after-effects of the violence, which is usually what I have a problem with. The movie is in black and white with certain colors added for effect. Some blood is shown in red, but it seems like the parts with the most blood and gore are either shown in stark b&w or alluded to while happening slightly off camera. I think that dampens the gross-out quality of the after effects of the violence (ie - blood, gore, random body parts), while still presenting the violence that is necessary for the plot of this movie.

There isn't a movie I can think of to compare it to, it was wonderful and I really didn't mind the violence in it. I hope you like it when you do go to see it!
