fuck, i love this. BEAUTIFUL. just beautiful. i love the consistency with the diamond and taguchi's gradual downward spiral in so few words. and how the faceless girl called him "taguchi" in bed. xD

If you didn't already have me from the header, you'd have got me from the first paragraph alone.

The hard rock glinted in the light like a beacon in the dark welcoming weary sailors home. For Taguchi, it inspired nothing but a hopeless feeling of being lost.
This particularly got me. The complete detachment of the simile coming around to show that what it should make him feel and how it doesn't. Yeah that makes sense <.<

He could feel the sharp edges of the fitting cut into his skin and he breathed in sharply, the colors around him blurring for a split-second into a beautiful cacophonous symphony of lights.
PERFECTLY BEAUTIFUL! I love this word choice.

"It's me," Taguchi said and smiled.
I can so see this ;A;

I love the snapshots of it. The way within a little snippet of dialogue is a miniature universe of a progression in Taguchi's spiral.

Taguchi grabbed it and tried to grind it into dust, but the only result was scratches on every surface
