Nope, not unless you're in some stupid store that charges for it, like Starbucks. There's WiFi all over my dorm and campus though. So no issues there.
The apps for the iPhone are the same for the Touch so essentially it's the same except I can't make calls (at least not without work) and no monthly bill.
So how easy is it really to do the wifi? Because I always thought it was annoying when I kept having to put in my gatorlink and password on my laptop to get internet in classrooms. Do you set it up so you don't have to keep re-entering that? If so, that would make an ipod touch very convenient and might convince me to buy one...
Nope, you have to keep re-entering it. The safari browser doesn't have a way of remembering passwords for websites. No way around it really... blame UF. It's a stupid system.
I think the HP's are the slickest IMO. Some of them are very expensive for the market too.
Let me look through the newegg...
I'd probably go for the Asus 904HA XP if I had to buy again. I didn't get into specifics because they really all are pretty similar. Some of the top-end ones are damn good as laptops and are really just 10" screens. It depends on your uses.
I could solder it if I was there. Any computer repair shop should be able to though. It's a pretty common thing to fix. I don't know a specific place though.
