Is it me, or am I really crazy?

For the first time, I find I cannot finish a fic. Very surprising. Someone made a suggestion as to how it should end, and BOOM! Writer's block. So I'm extrapolating the finished parts to form an ending for the beleaguered Gemini: Flipside. Man I hate that.

Also, I cannot watch SGA at all. I have so much unfinished stuff that would be finished if ( Read more... )

I've had writer's block for a few years now and I hate it. But, mine was brought about by PTSD. I've been able to read fics for about two years now. Before, I was unable to do that. I can't continue my education until I can actually write a paper!

You need to do what you can to knock yourself out of it. Force yourself to do what you can to get over this.

(((hugs)))

Sorry about the PTSD! I have no idea what to say. The only traumatic experiences I've ever had was having my car suddenly spin out of control on an icy road, or being a bridesmaid. I did however just join 3 LAS communities to throw me out of my funk. I like the rules: 100 minimum to 1000 max words. I think I can handle that. Maybe.

Thanks for the support!

There's nothing you need to say. It is what it is. When something traumatic happens, it's like being shot in the foot. You never realized what would be affected by that until you try to take a step. The trauma did something to my memory and I have blank spots where memories and abilities should be, but aren't there anymore.

However, I am very happy to see you joined those lists. They should help. Remember, we on your flist will be here for you.

PS: Are you going to the con in Nov in LA? If not and Joe is there, I'll try to take photos... I don't have seating there, so it'll be from the back...

It's likely I won't go in November. I want to go to all three events! There's a lot going on and I wish I could afford it. In addition to buying Comic Con tix, I'm thinking of cons for next year. the November one will no doubt be fun, and I'm jealous you get to be that close to my boys!

I hate that there's no do-overs! Since I really didn't have a direction in school, I feel like I never had a direction in life. Working on it though!

Im just a print~junkie here, long time reader, never a writer. Just a little post here to let you know that you are a heck of a writer (one of my 37 or so favorites) and that its ok if you have writers block (though Id really like to see you continue, my entertainment relys on it)youve already given the Fandom so much mind fodder. And the next time the Hollywood writers go on strike, they should just pick up the lot of you for story scripts, Fanfic writers create better plots than they pay people for.

thank you for your contributions to my print~junkie world,
FireOpal

So nice of you to say! I've always enjoyed writing so I'm hoping to get over this silly block. I'm a total print junkie! I have a file cabinet for my favorite long fic. When I'm getting ready to get on a plane, I print new stuff so I have plenty to read.

Wouldn't it be nice if TV was actually written by fans? There are a few shows that still have fans writing, but it's all about ratings and money.

I'll get back in the swing of things soon.
