AMP 2011: Day 14
Okay, so today was Palm Sunday - a happy day, a holy day, only a week 'til Easter, and generally a day along the lines of, "That Jesus, what a great guy!"......and so not a day on which I will post an incestuous podfic. It just....seems like a Bad Plan, y'know? So, instead of Supernatural, you get a Stargate: Atlantis podfic instead (I'll start posting more SPN after Lent is over, I promise - come Easter Monday, we'll be back with the brother-fucking!)
Today's podfic of choice is Little House on the Mainland, written by eleveninches. Gah, I love her stuff - always so very funny and with the kinds of lines that'll pop up in your head day after reading, to make you laugh anew (while simultaneously making others around you think you're a crazy person, and then they move to a different seat on the bus, leaving you in a people-free zone of seats for the rest of your commute...thanks, eleveninches!) And Little House on the Mainland is no different: John accidentally starts a political revolution. Lorne needs to commune with the trees. Halling discusses the electoral college. Elizabeth seeks to regain the title of Homecoming Queen. Rodney despairs of John's seduction skills. And, Teyla has killed at least two men.
I don't know how to describe the funny and sweet and silly that is this fic. I get all tongue-tied and flaily. However, I have laughed every single time I've read this fic, at different things each time - and felt as thought I were discovering something new with each reading.
