[irritating techie shit] and [dinosaurs in podfic]
Poop, poor baby....my computer charger completely died its final and most definite death last night. It's been dying by inches for the last six month or so, but held out the ghost until two days after it's fourth birthday. What a way to celebrate... But, I'm stealing Middle Sister's laptop, and the internet is for everyone, so until a new charger can be procured I am at least moderately placated.
Also, the lovely cybel pointed out yesterday that my Sooper Sekrit Internet Identity was less like a domino mask and more like that time Tony Stark outed himself to the press at the end of 'Iron Man', at least as far as podfics went. Apparently, when transferring files from GarageBand to iTunes, I didn't think of all the possible ways my name could be attached.....and my laptop did. And did so with gusto. So, between the two of us, we figured out what I was doing wrong this time, and how to fix it. Which, led to re-uploaded files of all podfics ever, and now everything should work again. I feel kinda immensely clever (for making it work at all), and kinda gooberish (for having problems that obvious in the first place).
And then, cybel went above and beyond the call of duty after all the hassle I put her through, and made me podbooks! With coverart! Podbook for "Mating Rituals of the Pegasus Galaxy" is here.... and the one for "Myself in You" is here. They are so pretty.... ;-) (EDIT: Podbook Links have been posted on the same page as the original mp3 podfic post - go check there instead....)
And, andandand...I have a big podfic to present! (Middle Sister's internet connection is being abused today...teeheeheehee)

The Roads Never Lead Where They're Supposed to Go, by eleveninches, has botanist!John and oblivious!Rodney and stressed!Carson and sarcasm and dinosaurs! I absolutely stand by my stance that there needs to be more dinosaurs in the SGA fandom. You just can't go wrong there, you know? In general, eleveninches rarely goes wrong - have you read "Them Other Boys Don't Know How To Act" or "The Modern Man's Hustle"? They're also by eleveninches, and also fantastic. With this one, I tried something newish, in that I picked prefacing songs for this piece that had (to me) thematic relevance to the story. I don't actually know if anyone ELSE will see the connection, but whatever... ;-) "The Roads..." is my longest podfic to date (more than 2 and a half hours! Woohoo!), so, enjoy!
