serious question: this mostly goes out to the kids who grew up on the milton side of jefferson, but if you happen to know the answer anyway let me know. Who remembers the game they'd have us play in gym, I'd say while we were in Cozy Lake, called "What time is it Mr. Fox?" this is bothering the hell out of me, because i can't remember how you would ( Read more... )

mr. fox would stand on one side of the gym
the players (i think they were like "chickens" or something he would "eat") would stand on the opposite side of the gym and they would ask the question... "what time is it mr fox?" and the fow would reply a time like 4 oclock and then everyone would take 4 steps forward and then like this would go on for awhile and once they got close to the fox or whatever the fox would reply midnight and chase after theme so they would have to be it or something... idk thats how we would play in it in my front yard anyway...

sounds about right. once someone was tagged... weren't they then on Mr. Fox's team to help him get the chickens or whatever once midnight came around again??

I thought there were two teams and everyone was assigned a time. There would be something on the ground between the teams that you wanted to be the first to get. So when the teacher yelled "4:00" the 1-2 people from each team that were 4:00 would run and see who got to the thing in the middle first. But when he yelled midnight, everyone ran for it.

Or I might be thinking of a different game.

I think you're definately thinking of "steal the bacon" which was most possibly the awesomest game ever. although normally in gym our "bacon" was nothing but a chalkboard eraser.

Haha, you're right. We totally ran for a chalkboard eraser too. Def the best game ever.
