grocery snob

i usually shop at the really nice, sorta upscale grocery store. because i can walk there if i only need a few things, they have a good selection of the "gourmet" ingredients you can't always find at regular stores, the aisles are wide and uncluttered, etc. it is a little pricier than the other nearby stores, but not much ( Read more... )

Well MY Kroger is actually quite nice, thank you :)

But part of that is that it has the self-checkout lines and I always use those, so no cashier hassle. And I generally am able to go during the day on weekdays, when it's only a smattering of housewives and old people around. Crowded stores are the pits.

i know ... our Kroger is actually pretty decent too, which is why I found it surprising that I was so exasperated after my trip there.

Maybe it was just unusually crowded and overrun that day.

There's a Payless (Kroger) across the street from me and I tend to go after work (10 p.m.ish) and I love it. I also use the self-checkout though, no matter how much stuff I have or how I'm paying. I actually was aggrevated today because they usually carry Dryell (that stuff that "dry cleans" your clothes at home) and it was nowhere to be found. I think once you get used to something it's difficult to change. Like I haaaaaaaaaaaate Marsh, haha.
