Slavery was an equally divisive issue in the 1850s. It wasn't about the rights of Blacks, but the rights of slave owners. It was economics. The only reason we haven't begun to draw lines already is that the demographics are not divided regionally this time. This will get very ugly if it passes.
I don't have health insurance and I cannot afford health insurance. I can barely make my bills every month, and have been losing money a little at a time almost every month since 2003. Adding yet another bill because Uncle Sam said so is not going to help me at all. I also will refuse to pay the fine. They don't like it? They can put me in jail. At least there, I'll get health care.
