Jimmy says I need to stop watching all of those shows b/c my standards are way too high.

Your list of want-to-haves looks almost identical to mine.....:-)

A house like that could run you anywhere from 150K in a rural area to 300K in a suburb. Location is key. Most places that I could afford right now would require SO much work to make just right.....so I gotta wait until 1) I have tenure somewhere and 2) I have enough money to make whatever I buy perfect for me.

yea im down for rural. im not opposed to living in montana, wyoming... where ever i can find a job though.

daniel and i would rather just build a house... like a log cabin sort... i have a friend's mom who built one and it is super nice. they pretty much have what i would want.

for me, I'm up for staying in New England for a bit longer.....but I'd really love to North Carolina eventually. I like suburban (I grew up in rural, I need a little more action than that).....

You could get land pretty cheap now and hold on to it for a while......then build what you want
