Amusements of a Political Junkie

Growing up outside of the beltway and having parents who worked for the government, I developed an admittedly unhealthy interest in politics. It has been a joy and a bane of my not-so-long life, something I hate to love and love to hate. And finally, for the first time I can remember (since I was little girl and got to watch Reagan's inauguration ( Read more... )

I would totally love to see Obama actually karaoke that song. Like, as if he were making campaign promises or something.

But boy am I glad that the media seems to like Palin about as much as they liked Obama. She's all over the place! It's nice for a change. But I'll probably get sick of her, too. :P Oh well. I guess Obama dropped the baton when he didn't pick a young(er)(ish), sexy(ish) woman for his VP.

Are we watching the same media? =) They might be covering her, but I wouldnlt say most like her. Regular people like her, absolutely. But the media has been like ravenous wolves in dealing with her. I don't mind them scrutinizing a candidate's poicies and background, but if they are going to fly up to Alaska and dig into everything, they should do the same to Obama in Chicago, and thus far they've laid off him on some potentially serious issues. She is light on some of the issues that concern me, but on others she is rock solid, and they are just dismissing that. But Obama's inexperience gets brushed aside? Excuse me? He is trying to be my pres, he'd better get picked over with a fine tooth comb. Sorry, I'll stop ranting now. =)

Actually I have no idea what show it is. But they were pretty good to her. And anyway, the media only really loves to hate people, that's what I meant by loving her. More just that she's been everywhere. I personally don't pay too much attention to what the media says, so it doesn't make much difference to me if they are praising or not. I was just happy to have a change of subject. Like, when Hillary left the scene, I was glad about that, cuz I got really sick of seeing her face everywhere I looked. It's gotten the same with Obama. And, like I said, it'll probably end up the same with Palin before the end of things. I'll be really glad when elections are over.
