I am terrified of new places. Bit of a homebody. Am a fan of wandering the internet snuggled in with a bowl of soup steaming somewhere nearby. Even in the summer. It's freezing here in the summer. Instead there's a shag rug on the floor, and I'm wondering how its cleaned. If it's ever cleaned

I'm in Delhi, doing a research project. I'm doing pretty well -- I've got some American friends with me -- but I really can't imagine being here for another 5 weeks. So long...We'll be around Delhi and Haryana, mostly, for the project, but our friend who lives here wants to take us down to her place in Bombay/Pune, and someone else said that the Himalayas were "totally doable" from here. Any recommendations?

It's so funny that these are the things that you recommended -- we're actually going to the Himalyas, and our friend from India is from Pune! Your description of Pune sounds wonderful; when did you do that?
