[After spending the better part of the week absent from the network and not really giving a fuck about what's going on on it anyway, Riku finally makes his reappearance late Friday afternoon. The feed flickers to life quickly, revealing a Riku that, surprisingly, looks better than he has in weeks. Apparently, sometimes, running away actually is the ( Read more... )

I thought you already knew.

As long as my date's still up for it, then yeah, I guess I am.

If you can't find a tuxedo or suit, then it should be alright if you just wear the nicest thing you have.

[BRB mentally searching back through all of the clothes he's found and cleaned up or had repaired.]

Would a suit jacket and jeans be good enough?

[He is the very picture of casual sexiness, okay.]

That sounds like it should be fine. It's still semi-formal if you wear the jacket.

Even if it's paired with a t-shirt and sneakers?

Clothes is usually a good idea. The girls tend to frown on nudity.

You don't say. And here I thought showing up in my boxers was gonna be perfectly acceptable.

Some people would show up in less!

Yeah, but what's a girl's definition of nice?

[Because he knows enough to knows it's way different from there's.]

[Dude you're asking someone that has a boyfriend, how would he know?]

What do you consider 'nice,' Riku? Try going with that first.

[Dude, he grew up around a girl and he still has no clue.]

What I consider nice would be staying home. But unfortunately that's not an option.

[At first when Riku didn't come home the first night Sora almost panicked. But once he stood back and tried to actually think about what was going on, the fact that Riku had left to take a break made sense to him. And it wasn't like he was never going to come back right? Although admittedly if he hadn't returned soon Sora had planned on going out and looking for him. He nearly jumped out of his chair when he saw Riku on the feed in front of their familiar front door. Despite the fact that he hated the text function, he started thumbing out his response as he walked towards the door.]

its alright i kinda figured you needed some space

[He sent it as he opened the door.]

Oh definitely. I was hoping you'd be back in time. [He grabbed Riku's arm and tugged him inside.] Now get in here. You're letting all the warm air out.

[He was just getting ready to type out another message to the other, thumbs posed over the buttons when the door opened behind him and Sora's voice sounded a moment before there was a hand on his arm, pulling him backwards and inside.

His lips curled into a smile as he closed the door behind him, dropping his bag near the door, making sure it was far out of tripping distance before turning back to his friend.]

I was hoping you'd say that. I didn't let Ukitake loose on my hair with a pair of scissor's for nothing, you know.

[And Riku's smile was met with one of Sora's own, big and happy and a little relieved.]

He probably did a better job than I would do.

[Sora even went out hunting to find something to wear with Hope yesterday. He was hoping that you'd still want to go, Riku.]

It looks good though, your hair cut. Now I can actually see your eyes.

He left my ears intact at least.

[Yeah, he totally doesn't even trust you to do that, Sora. How sad is that?]

I'm glad you like it. [He lifts a hand, pushing the newly trimmed bangs to one side. It was going to take a while to train them to naturally flow that way, but he really did like the way they looked.] It only took him two hours to get it right.

[And yes, he had sat still for those entire two hours. Yes it was hard, even for him.]
