My mom was just there, singing. One of the men who was in charge of the venue where she was performing was tortured in a war camp. He didn't want to talk about it obviously, but my mom said it was remarkable how well he tried to just keep on going.

This article was so sad.

It's amazing how rape really has never been declared a tool of brutality really. It doesn't really help either that the ICC does not have the most reliable court system.

Humans can really just disgust me the more and more I read about human rights and current world issues. Ugh, but who cares, we have to worry about two men marrying! That's the most important thing that's facing eternal damnation for all of us!

well, it sort of has now (catherine mackinnon is my hero for that.) and i guess the hope is that with this recent arrest, there will be more weight given to the judgments of the international courts, because hey they can actually punish you and stuff.

i'd say thank you for posting this story but it was too brutally sad to be happy i read it. it also made me think: i really should be coordinating abortions in camps, shouldn't i?
