awwwww

be careful getting a dog. you need to make sure you can afford to deal with the whole "dogs allowed" thing if you're moving around a lot. yep. plus they are expensive!

i know it's a big responsibility, but campbell and i both really want a dog. my entire family lives here now so at the very worst, i figure my mom could take care of the pup when i go back to school. our apt currently allows us to have a dog so we want to take advantage of it!

I'm not trying to be like all lectury or whatever, and I know I am, but the fact that you know you're going to be moving sometime in the near future is probably a big red flag in the dog department. She might be the most mild-mannered and adaptable dog in the world, but she might not be. And if she's not (you won't know until a few weeks after you've had her - most shelter dogs don't come put of their shell until they figure out that they're "home"), I don't think it would be a good idea to leave her with someone else while you go finish your degree. Well, unless that person has agreed to it well in advance... and even than, its iffy.

All I'm saying is think about it for a while. If Campbell would be the one taking care of her when you leave, that's one thing. But anyone else would be a big stressful change for her. She's already in a shelter and has already been bounced around most likely.

(Cats are much easier for this kind of thing!)
