Time and Tide Wait For No Man

Inside every older person is a younger person wondering what happened.

~Jennifer YaneSeptember is here, and it's my favorite month. Wait, is it silly to have a favorite? Well, why not. After a grueling summer of mosquitoes and humidity, the cool air and crunchy leaves are a treat. I feel like September is the true New Year, also; school is ( Read more... )

My most memorable birthday took place a few days ago. My friends rented a convertible and we spent the day cruising around town. For supper, we stopped at a nice pub, and some more friends of mine stopped by for a drink. We laughed a lot and talked a lot and we just basically had an amazing time.

The past couple of years, I celebrated my birthday at my Mom's, and it was fun, but not the same... This time around, my friends really got me the best thing ever, which is more than just the convertible...and it's something really precious that we call "quality time". We haven't seen each others much this summer, because we all have crazy schedules, but the fact that we managed to spend 2 days together was awesome.

Happy Birthday, Viva :)

Happy Birthday, Daph! Virgos FTW!

I love that your best birthday is the most recent one. Hopefully you keep that trend up for a long time :). Good times and friends are the best ways to celebrate!

As what usually happens when I read something from you, I enjoyed this very much. I think I may have something to share, but the spawn is cranky and confusing 'hungry' with 'sleepy'. Will be back.

Hello Viva - you got me thinking and that's always a good thing!

I've had quite a few birthdays *coughs* so it's hard to pick one that stands out but there are a couple that are worth mentioning. My 29th was very a quiet night though at the time I didn't mind.... two days later I was getting married so we were still in pre-wedding mode! I kept looking at my dress hanging up in my room and getting all dreamy-eyed. *g*

My 40th was fantastic - it was a milestone birthday so we decided to do something fun! We invited a whole heap of friends to join us on a boat cruise around Sydney Harbour - there was food, drink and entertainment all aplenty! The main thing I remember about that night was how much we all laughed and danced, the Foxx Man's lovely speech, and the new dress I'd bought especially for the evening. I was thrilled to bits when the boat captain told me I didn't look anywhere NEAR 40. What a smart man. *g*

*hugs*
