You're My Best Friend

Friendship isn't a big thing -- it's a million little things.

I’ve had the same best friend since I was nine years old. Trust me when I say this is covers quite a length of time. What does it mean to have a best friend, especially the same one for so long?

Hmmmm.

I'm an intensely loyal person, so when I decide upon a best friend, she's there for good. I've had several, because I do find that people come and go in your life depending upon the season...childhood, teenage years, college, parenthood, etc. Not so for you, exactly, but for me, there's always been one or two primary friends, but they do shift.

I don't think I'm the type of person who needs lots of friends. My husband, he's number 1 really, and then a few more and I'm good. *g* I'm not terribly social (IRL...online more so) so I don't seek extra friendships out. I'm good with that.

I don't overshare (or share much at all IRL), so that hinders the whole bestie thing. I tend to share much more online or in writing than I do personally. I know this about myself, but can't decide if it's a good thing or a bad thing.

I love the concept of you having the same bestie for so long. That's nice, is what that is.
