reminds me of the book "A River Runs Through It." Norman Maclean believes "all good things - trout as well as eternal salvation - come by grace and grace comes by art and art does not come easy." practice, practice, practice.
I like. In fact it seems that most things we attribute to character or personality or genetics are really just a matter of modifying behavior and establishing good habits. Easier said than done, but lucky us, there is a school of therapy that is driven by that very idea: http://www.rebt.org/
On the other hand if it's all about habits, then where does self-examination and improvement fit in? It seems that if we are to become more excellent then it is necessary to allow ourselves to go in the other direction every now and then too.
