[He gives her a grin and then blinks at the second part.] Well, I know the more common Pokémon take less time to hatch, Eevee's are pretty rare, I think. So that might be why?

And you don't need to worry about the Pidgey, I don't think. If it's anything like the one that I accidentally caught back when I first started it's not going to leave no matter how often you say it can.

Really? I'd better get used to him, then. Although I do find it strange that he just accepted being captured as easily as he did. I'm not sure I would, in his position.

It could be inherent in a Pokémon's nature to follow whoever captures them, or it could be something in the Pokéballs that does it, I guess.
