I loved this! Mostly because your characterization and everything is flawless, and partly because you referenced Project Runway's "Homeless Brett" :D

Hee, Homeless Brett. I thought it would be good as far as a contentious Project Runway finale (and one that I had no particular stake in, forever bitter Mondo didn't win over Gretchen).

Thank you so much!

Honestly just getting a response to know that someone enjoyed my fic is more than enough! ♥ I'm glad I moved you (heh, get it?) and that you liked the characterization.

Oh, man. I absolutely love this. I don't know, I think a lot of people are kind of lost and misguided when it comes to characterizing skank!kurt but yours was the most realistic and my favorite yet.

I'll 'fess up that it's a trope that I'm not in love with so I partly wrote this fic because I was curious how to make it work. I liked exploring where Kurt would have to go to end up in that place and I really liked the idea of writing a Kurt who didn't have the friendships he fostered over the course of 3 seasons of Glee that have shaped him so much.

Thank you for the feedback. :-)

I'm always a bit cautious of common fic tropes/AUs but I'm really glad I read this because your charactersations are wonderful. I could actually believe the reasoning behind Kurt's actions and facade juxtaposed with the inherent decency that Kurt has in canon. I loved it.

Thank you for taking a chance on me! (Oh man I just got ABBA stuck in my head. Whoops.) I wanted to lay out how to get Kurt to where he's made himself an outsider, that's pretty much the push of the whole story (I wrote about 7K in half a day) so I'm glad you liked it.

Your skank!Kurt is such a nice boy. Blaine's mom is awesome. Good twist on the trope, having Sebastian be the reason for Blaine's transfer and Kurt antagonized from the start, with Santana the neccessary catalyst between them. Favorite: wow, Kurt has never really seen the blatancy of Blaine's flirt before this moment because that is surely a force to be reckoned with. Oh, and Project Runway reference ftw.

I enjoy Project Runway far more than a person who wears a monochrome wardrobe 24/7 should love it.

I was really invested in the notion of playing with perceptions: Kurt purposely projecting a persona he knows he isn't to protect his actual self. Playing off of where other characters would be in this AU was also important and I wanted Blaine as a late transfer and have his own baggage color their interactions together. Rambling a bit, but yeah that's sort of how I set out when writing the fic. I'm glad you liked Blaine's mom! I liked writing her and while initially I thought maybe making her more antagonist, the scenes where she surprised Kurt with her kindness were a lot more fun to write.
