Although I am an alternate, I still have to go through most of the pre-departure hoops. Yesterday got the reply form to send back by the end of the month. I also got instructions on going about getting an FBI background check and filling out an IRS form. It said to contact them if you had lived more than a year outside the country for an FBI

Well, it's best to get all the paperwork out of the way now. If you're called, you don't want to have to deal with it later.
