First wave shot down...

Well.. got news that JET has upgraded all that they will from the initial "no" answers to accepting a short-listed position. I guess I will still hang around and see what happens. There is words going around that another wave of upgrades happen when people drop out after knowing their placements. To be honest I think that is lousy to do because ( Read more... )

Well realistically there are people that only want to come to Japan if they get their ideal city.... or a big city.... and when they get placed out in the middle of nowhere they decide they'd rather not do it. I admit it's tough doing it so I guess I can't blame them. But still, it's a good experience, and it's sad they drop out without even giving it a try.

I prefer to be out in the middle of nowhere. The way I see it, being in a big city you don't get as good an experience as in the middle of nowhere. A person can probably survive in a big city without actually knowing much japanese, but I would like being more rural for the immersion.
