[It had taken Zelda several hours with the council in order to reassure them that a trip into Ordon would require no guards and only a bow and arrow for security. It'd taken the riding master of the Castle thirty minutes to hound Zelda over her choice of steed for the excursion, and twenty minutes to remind the elderly man that he was speaking to ( Read more... )

[Time had passed since his last adventure saving Hyrule and the ending of his excursion had led him back to his humble little village of Ordon. It was passed noon now and the young man was still in bed.

After all of those late night battles, endless days with no sleep, and the nightmares that followed once he was back in his tranquil home, it had taken Link some time to gain back his old habits. Sleep hadn't come easy but he learned to appreciate what peace he was given. Ordon hadn't changed, Link figured he was the only one that did.

Had he known Princess Zelda intended on visiting today, he probably would have been up and about restlessly making sure his home was fit enough for the presence of a queen (for she was a Queen now, Russel had told him the news). Instead, the hero of Hyrule was still in bed, curled up underneath the sheets. It was easier to sleep during the day. The wounds of Twilight were still fresh.]

[Zelda managed to get through the village with mild amount of looks. She'd gotten several blinking stares when she'd requested the location of the Hero of Hyrule's humble abode, and one cheeky girl, grinning, as she pointed out the little house by the hills.

Once she'd started toward Link's home, people went back to their usual business. A few children continued to gawk, but after being reprimanded by their elders, they were off somewhere else.

Zelda was thankful that she'd worn more riding-worthy clothing for this outing, as a dress would have been quite uncomfortable when she rode up to the little house (the shape and the looks of the assembly and care-taking made obvious its owner) and dismounted by the stable area, or what served for a stable area, since there grazed Epona.]

Look, Tessie, [Zelda said as she dismounted.] This is Epona. You remember Epona, do you not? [She rubbed the flat of her hand against her horse's muzzle. Epona approached.] You two will get fine, won't you? [Tessie let out a loud neigh.] I will take that as ( ... )

[Some sunlight began to break through the open window threatening to fall on his sleeping face if the sun continued its journey but it wasn't it's warmness that woke him up. That loud neigh from a foreign horse reached into his lumber and brought him into consciousness. His eyes squeezed shut as he contemplated whether he should sit up. What threat was there?

None, probably. It's another false alarm.

Link didn't hear the screams from his fellow wrangler or the sounds of creatures with their jingling armor. Had it been another point in time, He would have been threatened by the sudden sound. At least he was getting accustomed to normal life.

Nonetheless, Link was awake now and he turned to lay on his back, blue eyes staring at ceiling. Maybe I should eat something soon.]

[Zelda left Tessie with Epona, confident that the two horses would keep the other occupied. She stepped up the creaky steps to the front of the house and elegantly knocked.]
