Regan has work to be doing, and soon enough she'll get back to it. Letters to be written, and others to be read, and Senator Thiering's proposed revision to the IIGA -- gutting of the IIGA, really -- to pick apart so she and Gabriel can compare notes.

But first, she's allowing herself a short break. She has mint tea and Dae Alvarez's Identity --

Gabriel's call echoes through the house.

"Are you home?"

Regan closes the book around a forefinger. (Favorite books get bought in paper form. Even if it's still digital paper.)

"In the den, Gabriel."

And there's a voice that isn't Gabriel's.

"Mother?"

[gabriel_tam]

He leads the way to the den, then steps in and leans against the wall, smiling.

"Guess who I've brought by for a visit," Gabriel says, unnecessarily.
