Paul, you know, tends to know where his Important People are. Case in point, last time he misplaced someone (in fact, every time he misplaced someone), they turned into a vampire and subsequently tried to eat him, died, or disappeared.

Yes, this will be fun.

So he's come back to the library to find himself some Faulkner (a change from "serious" reading, as he calls it). The moan demands his attention, he wanders over, then all but flings himself at Cathy.

"... Catherine?"

Oh no, not again.

There's a very fresh and visible bite on her neck (starting to scab over) and she's extremely pale, though she's slowly coming to.

"Oh... Paul... Ugh... I must have fainted," she says, somewhat weakly trying to pull herself up into a more graceful position, and with her free hand, trying to smooth down her skirts.

Did we mention panic would be involved? Oh yes, yes, Paul freaks out.

"Not again," is what comes out of his lips, and then he'll help her sit up.

"I was... continuing my research... into the nature of vampires," she says, catching her breath and leaning against him, her need for support overriding her sense of decorum. "A real vampire... in the flesh... she presented herself and offered me... the experience of her kiss."
