Cheney to address BYU grads The heartland of Utah's conservatism likely will welcome the vice president By Thomas Burr The Salt Lake Tribune Article Last Updated: 03/22/2007 11:44:23 AM MDT
By the way, that part about Cheney having "ties to Mormons" is hilarious--as soon as he wants to speak at BYU, whaddaya know, he's got a token Mormon on his staff and his wife has Mormon blood! I'm sure Cheney's publicity staff can't shut up about his "ties to Mormons" whenever he's in Utah, but conveniently neglect to mention them when he's in the South, speaking at Bob Jones University or wherever...
I like how the article makes it sound like Cheney is speaking here because he would get booed off the stage anywhere else. Mitt Romney hasn't spoken here (that I know of), probably because the whole country doesn't hate him yet, so he still has actual speaking opportunities.
