I like this. I've always wanted to see Olive as sympathetic. No matter what her real intentions are, I don't think anyone really understands her.

Thank-you.

I guess I should explain my concept a little. As the name of the story implies, it is loosely based on notions of quantum reality, which states that reality is created by consciousness and observation. In quantum theory, many universes or realities can and do exist at the same time, but their individual realities may differ either slightly or a great deal depending on observation and consciousness.

I've always thought of the Sims' universe as a quantum one, where the players' perceptions/obsevations and consciousnesses create the reality in their individual games. So, this story tries to take standard Strangetown "reality" and look at it in a "what if" way. What if the normal perceptions don't hold true in this reality?

I am glad you are enjoying the story. :)

The playable Maxis sims really do exist in alternate universes; it's fun to think about all the different realities that exist as a result of each player's perception and choices.

I'll admit it took me a little while to "get into" the story. Bunny's dialogue felt kind of forced--although I suppose that's kind of her character anyway. Ripp being in CC too realistic for my taste didn't help, as he felt like a bit of a sims 2 emo cliché. But the chapter got better as I became more accustomed to your style (both game and writing). I know I'll be interested in the future updates--I'm interested in the plot you have for us, and the clues you've given in the exposition.

Also Shrödinger needs a cat.

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't written anything creative for several years, so I'm still trying to find my bearings and my voice. I'm hoping to improve as I progress. And, yes, Shrödinger definitely needs a cat.

I am aware that Bunny's dialogue in this chapter is a bit forced. I needed to get some necessary background in and struggled with how to do that. I eventually settled on Bunny telling much of it. I wasn't completely happy with that, but it is what it is. :)

OMG, I LOVE Bunny. (In my game she's almost always named Annilin or Anisole, because I decided like you that the Curiouses would think naming alien children something astronomical would be a cliche.)

Crystal with Buzz? I never would have known. Of course, it's been ages since I last played Strangetown.

I love this story, and I love the fact Buzz got abducted. How will his baby turn out? Will he love him/her? Or would he resent him or her? I can't wait.

Even I don't know the answers to those questions yet! Well, I have an idea, but since Buzz decided to take the story in this direction, I've had to shift gears on quite a few things. Over all, though, I think (hope) it will be good. I will tell you that the baby has been born and the autonomous actions of some of the Grunts are kind of writing the story for me. Thanks for reading!

I don't actually know how Buzz is going to turn out in your story, but I actually got a little worried there for a moment that Crystal was going to turn him down. Now I'm worried about myself for becoming that emotionally involved in a sim romance.

I already liked Buzz and Olive, but your versions of them are wonderful. I loved that Olive was kind to Bunny, and let Bunny talk her ear off for a while (and I liked how a good portion of the chapter was told through her). And Bunny is adorable. As is Lazlo, although he might consider the shower next time. But I can't hate - my daughter interrupted my breakfast this morning with news that she needed a diaper change. She and Lazlo would probably get along well.

Sorry to be creeper and reading your other responses, but this: I've never seen Buzz as evil, just a bit clueless and misguided.

I've never liked it when he's made out to be abusive, either. It just doesn't fit with his character as I imagine it.THIS. I think Buzz is a bit rough around the edges and probably strict as hale, but I ( ... )

Thanks. :) I love Buzz. I've played him in many iterations and he's never been evil in any of them. I've been enjoying really thinking about motivations and trying to flesh out both his and Olive's characters.

I'm not sure how much of a role Erin will have. Most likely she will remain a peripheral character. She's cute, but I've never found her to be terribly interesting as a character.

You will be seeing more of Bunny and Olive and Buzz's predicament in the next chapter.

I can't wait to see more of your Olive and Buzz. I hope they have more interactions once Buzz gets back from his abduction, because I loved that they were involved, even if Olive did break it off to get married ( ... )

I won't tell you how or why, but Buzz and Olive do interact again at some point, probably several chapters down the line.

re: Shrödinger and your cousin: I was pretty much that child! I got over it (for the most part) after I became a teenager. Parties still put me into sensory overload, though. :D
