Allowing for a moment of seriousness in this otherwise not-very-serious journal, this is the most eloquent wording of the horrors of the Roman Polanski catastrophe I have heard yet. And this does a great job of explaining how crazy this world is in the context of Polanski and Banned Books Week.
I highly suggest reading both.

State of the computer
My friend took a look at my computer and said that it was probably the inverter board that was the problem with it. Whatever that is. My dad however thinks that I should simply chuck mine out and take his laptop which he never uses, which has a bigger HD and is generally faster. It is also a lot bigger and heavier. So my options are:

Computer woes
I'm borrowing a friend's computer to inform the internets that my laptop screen died last night and I am therefore computerless until further notice. So if I'm not around for awhile, I haven't died. My computer did.

Ask the internet time
Can someone with more experience with law enforcement than me tell what the different reasons the FBI have for getting involved in a case?
I know one is if the crime occurs on federal land - national parks, DC, etc., but any other reasons? (And also I'm not even entirely sure about that one - it can't be all crimes on federal land, right ( Read more... ) -

Dear Diary
Today I did nothing. It was awesome.
Also my room is impassable due to the huge dump of stuff onto the floor that occurred when I got home and unloaded the car. This is slightly less awesome.

Finished finals! What was supposed to take 2:40 actually took me about 1:30, and that was with liberal applications of "Staring at the wall while a song plays in my head and doing absolutely nothing to proceed in the test taking." So, my summer job fell through. They were going to be opening a new location soon so they were going to be shifting around employees, but construction on the new location has stalled, so they're overstaffed and unable to hire me ( Read more... )
