Sooo, I just went out to send a DVD back to Netflix, and I'm paranoid about things inside the mail box, so I always look before I stick anything in there. In the upper right hand corner I see a black spider, with a nice tiny red hour glass on its abdomen. Oh, yes, there's a black widow living inside my mail box. The scorpion previously residing

Florida. All kinds of insects, arachnids, and evil things live here. Black/brown widows kind of freak me out, though. Don't ever move to Florida!

Two of my favorite shows were set in Florida (Nip/tuck and Dexter), but both of those have turned me off the state forever. Hearing about damn SCORPIONS and deadly spiders in the mailbox suuuure doesn't help.

Yeah, I really think Florida should just be the kind of place you visit, instead of where you live. It's pretty much evil otherwise. The weather, the bugs, the people... the sand... Haha, just the intro to Dexter makes me uneasy. I hate seeing mosquitos that close, and I've totally killed them on me (ewwww!).

Down there in FL you have so many things to bite you make your day grand! I haven't saw a black widow in years. I come across recluses every now and then.

Raid works great! So does an old news paper, unless you got a fast one...

I don't think I've ever actually SEEN a black widow in real life. *shudder*
