"Awww, not the *very* best." But it was wonderful to have a fan section. "And I loooove the solo part they're giving me!... you can so do this. We can work on it and you can be a snowflake, come Christmas."
"Maaaaybe, if I'm lucky? The older dancers are usually flowers. Or fairies. They all get to dance together for Clara and the Prince." She grinned, booping Amelia on her nose. "That would be so much fun. We could go to rehearsals together, and the party afterward."
A red and blue streak - with some yellow in there - zoomed past the bus on the road. If anyone got a good look, the streak might have looked human, and maybe it was carrying a large bag over its shoulder.
But after a second, there was no trace of the streak except for a few dollars that fluttered to the ground.
"That just means they recognize how great you are!" Cecil said. "Of course," he added with a grin, "your excellent cheering section helped, I'm sure." He included everyone in his smile.
"Most definitely!" Kenzi threw an arm around his shoulders. Careful of the tentacles. "Thank you guys so much for coming along. I swear it really helped to feel the happy vibes from the audience, I swear."
"Happy vibes are always great!" Cecil hugged her back. "I think ♥Carlos♥ is investigating them, but I just know they work. Although that audition was definitely at least 99 percent pure talent! Well, maybe 98," he teased.
Kenzi blew a raspberry at him, then grinned, relaxing. "Solo, solo, solo...! God, I didn't expect that. I was just going to be happy to get in, but *this*." She drummed her feet on the floor in a dance step. "Caaarlosss and you get free tickets. So I can get more happy vibes when I perform!"

Besides, it was easy to be not-sleepy when she had both her pillow and the excitement of the night to cling to.
"So pretty," she babbled happily. "I want to do that, but Kenzi's the best. It was like she was floating."
She'd never match up!

And her word was law! Bow to the Queen of the Universe.
"If I'm a snowflake, does that mean I can dance with you? Are you going to be in it too?"

Kenzi pressed her face to the window, and then leaned back.
"Houston, we have weirdness."
