With my abstaining from the drunks in my life and knowing who isnt allowed to bask in my happiness with me, i guess life is looking up

seperate the wheat (good friends) from the chaff (bad friends) i say.
i read a good Camus quotation from inside a scott walker cd today:
"a mans work is nothing but this slow trek to rediscover through the detours of art, those 2 or 3 great and simple images in whose presence his heart first opened"
i think it means 'do what you have to do to make you happy'. x
i have worked at 4am this entire week. i'm a slave to the coffee.. i have this entire weekend off and friday and saturday night i intend on being absolutely obliterated. come and drink with me and we can dance and laugh and cause all sorts of debauchery together.
what do you say?
ps - i love our open invitations to hang out even though we are so far apart. just know that i would LOVE to be able to just jump on a plane and drink and dance with you until the days and nights just blurred together..you know, maybe one day i'll just do it. i've been awfully close a few times because i truly having nothing here keeping me from doing so..sigh
ha ha, this weekend is bad for me as i shall be flying to Nova Scotia! it will be the closest we'll have been to dancing together though.
i really hope you do come over here sometime. its not often you get a pretty girl who likes Joan Of Arc AND the Roth! when i get my new place in october i'll no doubt invite you again and maybe...
maybe my postgrad course will do exchanges to Turloc. p.s. what's the deal with the valley? i dont know what it is, but why does everyone seem to dislike it and it's people?

thank you. you know, i wonder about all of my long term livejournal pen pals. I mean, i feel as though we read such intimate details into each other's life and character, but yet i've not spent a single moment in the same country with so many..it's strange, but i suppose i quite like it a lot.
its wonder and mystery; sometimes i love my imagination to conjure up vivid images from your words.

yeah it really is pretty amazing how well you can know someone in a sense, but really how you don't actually know them at all. Sometimes it's really nice to just have that idealized image in your head, because it can't be proven wrong. Just like when you see someone you think is cute at the grocery store or something. In most cases it's probably better you don't try to approach them because then they can't become uncute.
That said, I think we'd really get along well if there weren't all this geography between us.
