Shaded Study

Regulus strode quickly past the doors into the castle, the bulge of a book apparent for a moment under his arm. He walked for a distance around the perimeter of the lake, his feet making imprints upon the slightly earth. A moderate wind cast his hair to one side as he knelt carefully under a sapling. He eased himself into a sitting position, facing ( Read more... )

Sabrina trailed around the lake, the one Mark so recently had taken a plunge in. Her thin frame seemed shadowed by the current lighting in the sky. Sabrina was deep in thought and didn't realize how far she trailed from the castle. She had finished all her homework, and allowed boredom to lead her where it may.

The wind was picking up and her hair was blowing back vicious, something similar to Medusa. Sabrina looked around a saw a figure sitting under a sapling not to far off. Being the curious type she wandered over to see who it was.

"Hi Regulus," she said, surprised to see him, book in lap and wand in hand. He looked like he was studying and Sabrina began to have second thoughts on wandering over.

Regulus pointed his wand at the surface of the lake and mumbled something inaudible. Nothing untoward followed this display, and slightly pink around the ears, Regulus turned to meet the intruder.

The silent greeting made Sabrina feel was if the temperture was dropping even more, and the wind took a bitter tone.

"I'm sorry to have disturbed you. I see your studying -charms? I guess I should leave you be." Sabrina would have blushed, but her cheeks were already rosy from the cold.

He shrugged and lowered his wand slightly. With a grimace, he made some room next to him in the shelter of the tree.

"No, it's okay. I have all term to learn these, after all. Then I'll just hex people who disturb me while I'm away."

Sabrina withdrew her wand and pointed it forward. "Flagro!"

Then with her wand, she began to write on the air with firey lettering that provided little warmth. C-O-L-D-?

He shook his head shortly, smirking.

"I just hate getting my hair blown one direction and then another the next moment. It looks quite absurd and distracts me from my studies."

Sabrina wanted to roll her eyes at the comment, but instead found herself chuckling lightly. She really couldn't understand all the prejudice against the Slytherins. They all seemed fairly nice. Then again, Snape was no picnic, but he wasn't as horrible as the band of Gryffindors made him seem.

"Maybe we should go inside? There is considerably less wind." she said, stating the obvious.

"There is also a considerably higher number of people inside the castle."
