Episode 8.02; "What's Up, Tiger Mommy?"
Can I just take a minute to say this episode made me cry my eyes out? Because, seriously. I cried. I screamed…And I flailed around like an idiot. xD
I enjoyed the season premiere, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I was hoping. I guess my main issue was that it made me worried about where this season might go…. Though, TONIGHT. Tonight’s episode was perfect. This episode was basically everything I love combined into one!! I mean, DEAN FINALLY HUGGED CASTIEL. FINALLY. I feel like the fandom has collectively been waiting for this hug since season 4…That beautiful, heart-wrenching hug! (And seriously. I was angry with the premiere because Dean hugged Benny. I was all like: “HE’S KNOWN BENNY FOR 5 MINUTES AND HE CAN HUG HIM? WHY CAN’T HE HUG CASTIEL?”. Not even going to lie.)
I also totally missed it until Tumblr pointed it out. DEAN STROKED CASTIEL’S BEARD. /dying
Anyway, I just have to say, as coherently as possible: I’m so thankful for the flashback scenes. The premiere made it seem like Dean might have betrayed Castiel or something. But, this. This established, with ZERO questions, that Dean cares for Cas so much…and they both KNOW IT. They are both aware of how important they are to one another. And I’m don’t just mean romantically, either. I’ve recently seen posts on Tumblr saying how Castiel is a pointless character and I’m like REALLY. He’s important. He’s important to Dean. Dean prayed to Cas every night.. And as an emotional Tumblr post pointed out: That’s a big deal, as Dean doesn’t even believe in God.
I have too much love for these characters. And I have way too much love for Castiel. I could write a novel about my love for him but no one would want that…..
MY HEART IS BREAKING.
IS IT NEXT WEDNESDAY YET?
