Not being particularly religious anymore, and never having been Catholic, I had no idea it was Ash Wednesday. Roommate immediately pointed that apparently Easter is on April Fool's this year, too. Good Lord.

Yes, it's a banner year for ironic holidays.

Being Catholic gives the year a different form and rhythm, I suppose in the same way that being any sort of organised-religion is. I like it, and especially everything from Epiphany to Easter.

That is one thing that I really like about Catholicism. I may not be a follower of the faith, but I periodically go to Mass, just for the ritual of it. It's so peaceful to have a reliable rhythm to my worship.
