DONE.

After an all-night marathon, I've finished the book. And I'd happily skip movies 5 & 6 to see movie 7 like, NOW. Yes, the book was THAT good.

Except for the epilogue maybe, but that's just my opinion :P

Eh, it's over...really over.

*collapses in exhaustion*

Apparently, the booksellers who've been boycotting the book have relented and ( Read more... )

Oh yes. Lots of drama, and the booksellers took out a full-page ad in the newspapers on the 21st to announce the boycott too ;p They're just being sore losers because the hypermarkets definitely pulled a fast one over them XD

How much is the book retailing in Singapore?

sorry i'm reading this belatedly (since i just found your lj doing Johnny's-related google searches lol.)

and i just had to say...

i hated the epilogue. it was so was tacky and white-picket-fency and totally the worst part. it was like "now that it's over we can go back to idyllic white middle class conformity! :D" or something. I dunno it was just so cheesy it left me kinda irritated ^^;;

p.s. I'm one of those ppl who pre-ordered... I preordered all of mine since book 5 XD. They were a lot cheaper, like 10-20$ cheaper (it was 32$ or 34$ for the last one)

At first I wondered what the smaller stores here would do, but the ones who had a Harry Potter party, they just sold pre-orders too for around the same price, and most canadian places including the internet sellers go back to normal price after the pre-orders are over, so... :)

Wow, 32$-34$ is pricey.

Yah, pre-ordering is usually worth it :) I pre-ordered the previous books too, but I'm glad I didn't this round!

The major booksellers here were throwing such a silly hissy fit. In the end they lost out anyway, because there's heaps of unsold books at the stores. Plus, reading the "We are now selling Potter VII!" notices after the boycott was rescinded was laughable ;p

Hi :)

I so agree. It was definitely cheesy - plus, knowing that JK Rowling deliberately plotted and wrote it in this manner makes it all the more irritating *rolls eyes*
