I don't think I'm going to cosplay Watari, next summer. There are, all of a sudden, 348239048134890320 Watari cosplayers, now. I, unfortunately, have met a few of them. Quite a few of them are pretty much not in touch with reality whatsoever, and not even in a mild way, more of a "why aren't they on medications?" way. I wish I was joking. Besides,

I've been cosplaying Watari since Yaoi-Con 2002, and while I'm nowhere near the best Watari out there, I don't care. I identify with Watari more than any other anime character -- hell, more than any other fictional character -- and I wear the costume because it's fun, not because I give a shit what other people think.
(Granted, I got pissed off at YnM fandom way back in September 2003 when they pulled some serious shit on two very close friends of mine amd ruined the fandom for them, hence my current disconnect from the fandom. I enjoy it from a distance, but it hurts too much to try to get any closer and participate. This doesn't change the fact that you should cosplay whomever the hell you want -- especially Watari, who I think you could do worlds better than the 85036854567868568568 closet cosplayers out there. But that's coming from a ghetto Watari cosplayer herself, so take it as you will. ^^;)

I just hate doing shit alone, sometimes, when I feel something (like a con) should be about meeting new people and having a good time. I just have a feeling that if I went, I'd have like 99% of all these people turning their noses up at me. (Then again, knowing me, if anything too serious would happen, I'd surely get thrown out for starting a fist fight. I'm not really good with rude people... they're the type that provoke my rare and hardly ever seen violent side.) I just wish people were as nice as you five. Oh! And chiharu_octavia as ( ... )

...I think that I watch too much anime. >.<;;
But really -- if cosplaying as the character makes you happy, to hell with the lot of them. I was in a delicious mood on Halloween from just hanging around my room in my Tenpou clothes. Besides, wouldn't cosplaying as Watari be like having a license to harass? You know, just being friendly and asking if people would like to try some of your absolutey-not-tampered-with-why-would-you-think-something-like-that baked goods? No sitting in the corner for you, pal! ~_^ (Meanwhile, Tenpou would just have my nose glued to a book. Not that I'd mind that, but I doubt it would be getting one's money's worth out of a con to do that...)
By the by, which con are you planning on potentially going to? I'm trying to familiarize myself with the stuff that goes on so that I can eventually make it to one.
