Heh, first post in forever. Ah well, Just busy I guess...

So, after working through a massive backlog of DVDs, I'm finally watching Kanon (the 2006 TV series from ADV). The problem with all those shows you've mentioned is that it's not about the characters. It's about whatever problem of the week they're troubleshooting. Also, the way you're putting it makes it clear you're used to lots and lots of scenery candy(your "people milling around.") Scenery candy makes little to no sense for certain areas, like the command center of a space station, because people need to stay in certain areas and stay out of the way of others, in some cases. If it takes a ton of people aimlessly milling about to make you happy, this show isn't for you, because it requires your attention span to be (*gasp!*)longer than the American average. Aimlessly wandering around is for video games, not serious speculative fiction ( ... )
