Reid loved New Year's Eve. The countdown, the silly party accessories, the excuse to get completely smashed and kiss random strangers at midnight, all for the sake of waking up to a supposed fresh start the next day. While he never really needed much of an excuse to go out, it was always nice to have a reason for getting all his girls together to

"It feels odd having everyone except Skylar... we'll just have to drink twice as much." There was a mischievous smile on her lips as Ava shrugged and looked up to their waitress. "Tequila rose! 10 shots for now. Oh who am I kidding, bring the bottle!"

She asked her last question with a quirked smile, Jemma taking the moment to tuck her hair behind her ear as she let her eyes scan the club. She hardly ever made it to a night out these days so this was a bit of a treat for her. The place was packed to the brim, groups already dancing, couples already snogging each other senseless.
She smoothed out her dress, leaning back into the cushy booth as the waitress returned with the tray and a few glasses.

"What-" he looked up from the next shot he'd been preparing himself to throw back, his eyes catching sight of Skylar as she walked in, Jonah protectively trailing along behind her.
"Sky- what the-" He abandoned the still-full shot glass, the buzz of alcohol that he had been building up efficiently forgotten as he dashed across the room to meet Skylar's reaching hands, promptly wrapping her up in a solid hug without bothering to ask why it was a needed gesture, or why she was even here in the first place. Explanations could wait-

"He's was terrible-" she breathed, the tears finally coming now. A violent sob coursed through her body. Her chest hurt, a heavy weight settling over her so familiar she knew it could only be heartbreak.
"The things he said to me-"

It didn't take a genius, however, to guess who the 'he' her shaky confessions was referring to.
"It's okay," he muttered against her ear, loosening her grip on her just enough to lead toward a quieter corner of the room, away from the inquiring gazes of their friends. He shot one sharp look in their direction, however, and they knew enough to let them go off on their own.
"It's okay, you're fine, I'm here," he said softly as he settled her down onto one of the barstools that lined the room, gently brushing a stray strand of hair away from her face.

Still, he felt a bit uncomfortable in the club, seeing how he was certainly not dressed for the event nor did he want to chance running into any of his teammates.
But when he spotted Ella, he couldn't help but grin, making his way toward her.
"Hey, stranger-"

"Hey yourself," she grinned back, fiddling with the drink in her hands. She threw a nod towards the back of the room at the two huddled figures, her eyebrows knitting together with questioning concern. "What's all this about?"

But still, he was more than glad to see her.
"Oh-" he frowned, tossing a glance back at Reid and Skylar. "You know- it was a bit of a mess, really. She and Harry- well, they got into an argument? I think? It looked more one-sided than anything else-"

She turned back to Jonah, nodding at the drink in his hands. "Staying for a few, are you?"

But she pulled back a double shot of tequila and the warmth spread through her entire body.
"I need another shot!" she announced, grinning again as fuzzy bliss clouded over her.
All she had to do was look at one of the boys in the bar and they'd come running. Desperate, most of them, and happy to take in the sight of her bare, flat stomach and swinging hips as she danced around the room.

Hearing Sky's demand for more drinks, Ava grinned. Two more shots were poured and she beckoned for her friend to come get then. Beckoned all the way up so they were standing on the table, a mischievous smirk on Ava's lips as she played up to the people watching her.

"You're brilliant, love. This place is brilliant," she told her over the music, getting nice and close to tease their audience.

"Pick your target. I give you one free pass."

Jemma invited him. Skylar was interesting. Reid - Well, Reid existed.
Somehow, it was still ridiculously easy for Sebastian to get in anywhere, without bothering to track down someone to verify where he was supposed to be. It probably had something to do with confidence and acting like you were in the right place - or glaring and daring someone to attempt to question you.
Either way, here he was, and it was ridiculously easy to find the weird little group of former Ravenclaws that seemed to be monopolizing his time lately.

When Reid's gaze settled back into focus from the blur he had brought upon himself by accepting the dare to double-fist shots, his eyes stubbled upon the new addition to the room. Jemma had mentioned that she'd slid out an invitation, but he had brushed it off and assumed it wouldn't be acted upon-
Never had he been so pleased to be wrong.
"Well, well, well," he greeted Sebastian, shoving one of the two fresh shots he had snatched from the bar (the bartenders had finally caught on and had stopped waiting for orders, had instead just gotten to keeping a few ready-to-go glasses lined up on the bar) in the man's empty hands. "So good ( ... )

It was almost hard to hear Reid when he turned up and thrust a glass unceremoniously into Sebastian's hand. "Where else was I going to get to see this much of a hot mess first hand?" Sebastian snorted. He held the shot up in a bit of a toast and threw his head back, swallowing it all in one go. When in Rome, and all that.

Pausing, she looked them both over, then between them, smiled, nodded, kissed them both on the cheek, and kept right on moving to her next shot without a word.
