Sebastian was all too familiar with Reid turning up at random times when he should probably be somewhere else. It was the only reason he didn't jump and instantly throw a hex when he heard the obvious sounds of Apparition. In that instant, though, for possibly the first time, Sebastian was starting to regret giving Reid Apparition privileges at Daley Manor.

The flailing wasn't too out of the ordinary. The agitated voice wasn't either. The content, though, was.

Maybe it would have been better if Sebastian hadn't read the same story over cooling coffee that morning, abandoning his cup to hole up in the study and owl Jemma, trying to figure out how to manage this. He was in too deep to vanish, which was his first instinct.

Sebastian moved around the large desk, shocked that running hadn't been his immediate course of action. Shrugging, trying to stay calm if only to counter how amped up Reid was, he sighed.

"I already had a target on my back. The minute they dropped Daley into anything, the target was there." That was completely ( ... )

Reid couldn't help the huff of laughter that escaped him, dripping with sarcasm and accompanied by a dramatic eye roll as it was.

"Well, tough," he snapped, accenting the word by once more swatting the day's paper in Sebastian's direction. "Turns out you're not invisible anymore. And for someone who apparently would want nothing more than to go back to that, you're not helping your case by antagonizing anyone with a byline within earshot ( ... )

"Sorry, I never made it a point to stop and ask everyone for their credentials before I was assaulted by some asshole with a prejudice." Raising an eyebrow at the newspaper that was being waved in his general direction again, Sebastian automatically slipped into defensive. It wasn't Reid's fault, which he knew in a distant sort of way ( ... )

Reid's eyes narrowed slightly at the mention of that makeshift dungeon. He had stumbled upon it on one of those nights when he had first taken to spending more time than he, at the time, really cared to admit to in Sebastian's bed rather than his own, when he would kill those late night/early morning hours that preceded his falling asleep by nosily wandering around the endless rooms and corridors that threaded through the massive manor ( ... )
