I'm quite surprised by how much we're able to change our journal layout. Look around my main page and look at all the fun changes I've made! :) If any of you have questions as to how to do it yourself feel free to ask! It's a lot of fun. I'm really going with my song obsession
Now all I need to do is change the graphic at the top of my journal.

Don't ask me why I said that. Anyway--I see. As a person with a Paid Account, what's really involved with having one? Is it true that it only costs $20/yr? And how do you get more icons after the extra 15 you get with a Paid Account? I'm kind of addicted to icons
And as for codese--I'm going to try my hardest to learn it! Seems like quite a useful tool to have.

Oh gosh--seriously?! That much? How many more icons do you get for that? And the whole five each year IS a good idea though. :)

So....I found a little instruction thing on how to customize and where you'd put your CSS code, but from the way they described it you had to come up with EVERYTHING. So would it work if I just put the header in there or something? Because I like the layout that I have now, but I just want to change the header. I suppose that won't work then, huh?
Oh, and I've done a little more digging, and I've found a site that teaches you all about html, css, javascript, etc. It's called w3School Looks like a TON of information but I'll learn it slowly! And thanks again for the help--I'll go and just try it out. :)

Now, below is what I used, but I'm not sure it'll work for your theme, but try anyway! :) You can click on the link above in my journal for other help if it doesn't help, but I'm sure it'll work.
#header-inner {
background-image: url(THE URL OF YOUR IMAGE);
}
#header, #header-content {
background-image: none;
}
#header-inner {
background-image: url(THE URL OF YOUR IMAGE);
height: 300px;
}
As a note, BOTH urls used above must be the same. This makes sure that you replace the header you already have with the one you want. If you just do it once then you'll end up with two headers ( ... )

BUT I've learned a lot by looking at this person's post here and you can find communities specific to your journal type like the one I have for Expressive/Mixit Journal Style because that's what I use. Whatever it is that you use I would suggest typing it into a search engine along with the words "livejournal" and "layout help" and hopefully you'll be able to get what you need. :)
