I don't think there is such a thing as "post-race America", like so many pundits have been saying. As post-Civil Rights-era Americans, we have a different experience of this issue than our parents. While there will always be baggage - I'm not naive - it's considerably less than what our folks were taught. However, there are still too many Americans our age who still think that way. I pray that the Obama administration is effective and that Americans can transform our political process into something that works again.
