Jason's dog died. They heard the news that she was to be euthanized in the morning right as he was driving through Tampa heading towards Gainesville. They'd had that dog for fifteen years and so he turned around and headed back to St Pete. She died at the vet's office sitting in Jason's mom's arms. The bladder went

I think it would help his pain if you were there with him. At the same time I don't think Jason would hold it against you for not going down cause you're busy and sometimes practicality takes precedence. Obviously you being there won't make things better, it's more of a 'I'm here for you' situation. I agree with your pre-vet friend though, if I lost my puppy, I'd be extremely upset.
