I don't even have any flail for this. I mean, for me, Kuro-lady is the sexiest thing to ever strut her badass ninja self about the fandom, and she most certainly makes me bite my bottom lip and go "hnnngh" in a suspicious tone of voice, but...

...this is just tender. Like a wound just healed, sore to the touch, but at the same time healing and whole. I love Fai's muddy green eyes, and the way Kuro-girl worries about her hair of all things, and how it was her father's hand she cradled to her chest when the berserker rage took over in burning Suwa.

I love every single piece of this, and though a part of me is clamouring for the unf-worthy sexy times~, the rest of me is quietly in awe of what you've done with this much-loved and oft-reworked scene.

You write femKuro so well, and so realistically. While it was sort of strange to read at first, your knowledge of the ways that this would effect the canonverse didn't make it seem fake or idealistic at all. I mean this specifically when it came to the way Kurogane was treated by her peers and the people of Nihon, as a woman struggling to be recognised, reflected in the way she views Fai as a man who sees past her gender.

The way that Kurogane is effected by such insecurities, in the way that every woman is, broke my heart a bit. I hope Fai can teach her to really not care about what everyone else thinks. I know she said she doesn't, but the way the story keeps coming back to it makes me think otherwise.

I can't wait to read more, if you write it :)

yeah, she's not as over it as she thinks she is. fai loves her a lot though, so here's hoping eventually she realizes it doesn't matter so much. she's still thirty degrees of badass, despite stupid men being all 'you're not feminine enough' because men like to do that. /feminist soapbox
