I definitely agree that some shows benefit from staggering. I don't know if I agree that Mad Men is one of those shows, although the fact that the timeline goes pretty quickly (although not nearly as quickly as Downton!) makes me think about it. I'm a marathonaholic, so I hate watching things at a slow pace (I also forget EVERYTHING if I don't watch like, a series within a week).

I'm considering moving since I can afford an upgrade, at least to above ground. I'm not in a rush though.

I feel like I can't really judge something I've already seen. I do pretty well remembering things from shows to show, though I'm lame enough to forget things when there's too much going on our if I can't recall the characters' names.
